Hello, Hola! I am Gabriela Moad, born in Mexico City in 1970. Since 2006 I have been living and working in St Albans, England. With a background in graphic design, my activities have mainly revolved around the following:
Illustration & Product design
For more than 25 years, my primary focus has been on designing for the kids' market. I am the founder and creator of the brand 'Fulanitos,' a successful brand that originated in Mexico in 1995 and expanded to other countries in South America and Europe. I began my own business by selling little frames with unique characters and friendly messages that quickly gained popularity and loyalty among children and teenagers.
Fulanitos experienced significant growth, leading us to create a vast licensing program. Along the way, I gained valuable experience in designing art guides and stands for international annual exhibitions, including the Licensing Show USA and Brand Licensing Europe.
My illustrations have found their way onto around 25 different products, including toys, textiles, stationery, home decor, and activity books for children. I feel fortunate to have collaborated with several companies that chose to utilize my designs, such as Baby Mink, Baker & Taylor. Bouton/Brazil, Carl's Jr, Chenson, Coca-Cola, Convergram, Essity - Saba teens, Gamesa, Gifi/France, Hofmann, Holstein Housewares, Indeca/Spain, Kleen-Tex/Germany, Kimberly Clark - Scribe, Penguin Random House, Staedtler.
Painting
Since 2017 I have devoted my focus to painting in oils, exploring a newfound passion.
Although mainly self-taught, I've had the privilege of receiving instruction from the talented Christiane Kubrick, whose guidance and inspiration have profoundly influenced my artistic journey.
Ceramics
I've always enjoyed ceramics as a hobby, and it has inspired me to create a line of jewellery that sells well. The fusion of my passion for ceramics with my creative endeavours has been a fulfilling journey.
